Ronald Rhode Injured in Aitkin Township Vehicle Collision

On August 14, 2025, at approximately 4:47 p.m., a two-vehicle collision occurred on westbound Highway 210 at 422nd Place in Aitkin Township, Aitkin County, Minnesota. Ronald Carl Rhode, a 78-year-old passenger in a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Karen Sue Rhode, 74, sustained non-life-threatening injuries when the Chevrolet attempted a U-turn from the westbound shoulder and was struck in a T-bone style crash by a westbound 2008 Honda Accord operated by Joyce Elizabeth Kahlhamer, 63. Ronald Rhode was transported to Essentia Health St. Mary's in Duluth, while Karen Rhode and Kahlhamer were treated at Riverwood Healthcare Center for non-life-threatening injuries.The Minnesota State Patrol, assisted by Aitkin authorities, is investigating the incident, which occurred under dry road conditions with no alcohol involvement reported.
