Elaine Weamer Killed in Antioch Car Crash

On July 26, 2025, a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Routes 173 and 83 in Antioch, Illinois, resulted in the death of Elaine Weamer, a 78-year-old resident of Hainesville, Illinois. The incident occurred when a southbound Honda, attempting to turn east onto Route 173, collided with a northbound Hyundai. Both vehicles sustained significant damage, and emergency responders transported the drivers of each vehicle and Weamer, a passenger in the Hyundai, to nearby hospitals. Weamer was pronounced dead at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville due to blunt force injuries, as confirmed by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
