Woman Killed in Fairbury, Illinois Crash After Driver Runs Stop Sign
A fatal crash occurred just south of Fairbury, Illinois, on March 29, 2025, when a compact SUV, driven by 19-year-old Mark Gal, ran a stop sign and collided with another compact SUV at the intersection of 6000 North Road and 2200 East Road. The collision resulted in the death of 67-year-old Jerrie Enghausen, a passenger in the second vehicle, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Enghausen's husband, who was driving the second SUV, was flown to OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria and is reported to be in stable condition. Gal and a child passenger were taken to OSF HealthCare Saint James John W. Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac, where they were treated for their injuries and released. The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office cited Gal for disobeying a stop sign.
