Fatal Crash Claims Life of Sabra Farabee in Hansford County, Texas – August 17, 2025

On August 17, 2025, a fatal two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of FM 1262 and State Highway 15 in Hansford County, Texas. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash involved a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 21-year-old Alexander Powell of Royal, Arkansas, and a 2022 Lexus RX350 driven by 57-year-old Sabra Farabee of Texhoma, Texas.

Authorities report that Powell failed to stop at a posted stop sign on FM 1262 and proceeded into the intersection, striking the passenger side of Farabee’s westbound vehicle. Sabra Farabee was pronounced dead at the scene. Powell sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. The incident is currently under investigation by DPS.
