Greg Willhite, Clark County School Bus Driver, Killed in Motorcycle Accident
On June 6, 2025, Greg Willhite, a 56-year-old school bus driver for First Student in Clark County, Washington, was killed in a motorcycle accident while commuting to work. The incident occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Northeast 142nd Avenue, about 1.5 miles from the First Student bus yard in Battle Ground. According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, a pickup truck traveling southbound made a left turn in front of Willhite’s northbound motorcycle, resulting in a collision that struck the side of the truck. Willhite was pronounced dead at the scene.
Willhite had been employed as a bus driver for six years and was recognized by his coworkers for his reliability and interpersonal engagement. His absence was noted immediately on the day of the accident, as it was uncommon for him to be late. Colleagues described him as a consistent presence who contributed to the workplace through meaningful interactions.
