Josephine Lee Involved in Fatal Crash on I-530 in Arkansas
On June 17, 2025, at 3:32 PM, a fatal crash occurred on I-530 southbound at the 10-mile marker in Rural Saline, Saline County, Arkansas. The incident involved two vehicles: an unknown vehicle (V1) and a 2022 Hyundai Elantra (V2) driven by 37-year-old Josephine Lee of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. According to the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, V1 struck V2 from behind, causing V2 to leave the roadway and collide with a tree. Tragically, 19-year-old passenger Jamiyah Devose-Croom of Pine Bluff was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of V1 fled the scene immediately following the collision.
Josephine Lee, along with two other passengers—18-year-old Jakrya Burns of Pine Bluff and an unnamed minor—sustained injuries and were transported to UAMS and Arkansas Children's Hospital for treatment. The crash occurred under cloudy and rainy weather conditions, with wet roads likely contributing to the severity of the incident.
