Joshua Reno Identified as Victim in Fatal I-5 Motorcycle Crash in Tacoma

Joshua L. Reno, 46, of Olympia, Washington, has been identified as the motorcyclist who died in a collision on Interstate 5 in Tacoma on the afternoon of August 21, 2025. According to the Washington State Patrol, Reno was traveling northbound and lane splitting between lanes three and four near the 56th Street interchange when a 21-year-old Tacoma woman changed lanes in her 2015 Ford Fusion and struck him.

The impact forced Reno into the left shoulder barrier, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities notified his family shortly after the incident. Interstate 5 was closed for over two hours following the crash, significantly impacting traffic in the area. The investigation is ongoing.
