Ju Nine Fatally Struck in Bridgewater Pedestrian Crash

On August 11, 2025, at approximately 11:50 p.m., a fatal pedestrian accident occurred on State Route 8 near Mapledale Road in Bridgewater, Oneida County, New York. Ju Nine, a 50-year-old resident of Utica, was walking in the roadway when they were struck by a southbound 2018 Dodge Caravan operated by Lysle A. Jones, 71, of Leonardsville. Nine was pronounced deceased at the scene.The New York State Police, assisted by the Bridgewater Fire Department, are conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
