Lehman Lippert Attacked by Dog in Logan County, Oklahoma
Recently, 14-year-old Lehman Lippert was attacked by a dog while walking home from his grandfather’s house in Logan County, Oklahoma. The dog, owned by a neighbor, bit Lippert once before he managed to repel it. A UPS driver intervened by positioning his truck to block the dog and subsequently drove Lippert home. Lippert sustained hand injuries and required rabies vaccinations at a hospital. This incident aligns with a broader pattern of dog attacks in Oklahoma, where such events have been documented over the years.Lippert’s mother, Aimee Lippert, voiced concerns regarding the absence of a leash law in Logan County, noting the dog’s history of biting multiple individuals. She stated, “This is a no-leash county and that’s just ridiculous, even if it’s bit multiple people? Like, there should be something done.” Captain John Evans of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office clarified that no state statute mandates leashes for dogs in Oklahoma, leaving Logan County without such a regulation. He added that a potentially dangerous dog letter would be issued to the owner in this case, with further action possible if additional incidents occur.
