Richard Hattan Injured in DUI Hit-and-Run Crash Near Rosalia, Washington

On April 26, 2025, a serious incident unfolded near Rosalia, Washington, resulting in the injury of 71-year-old Richard Hattan and the arrest of 31-year-old Riley Maley on multiple charges. According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision occurred around 9 p.m. on U.S. Highway 195, approximately nine miles south of Rosalia. Maley, driving a Ford F350, reportedly failed to yield at a stop sign while traveling east on Ralph Henning Road, striking Hattan’s southbound Chevy Silverado on the driver’s side. Following the crash, Maley fled the scene, leaving Hattan’s vehicle against the guardrail. Deputies later located and arrested Maley for alleged vehicular assault, DUI, and felony hit-and-run.

Hattan was transported via ambulance to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane for treatment of his injuries, though details regarding his condition have not been disclosed. The incident highlights the dangers of impaired driving and the severe consequences that can follow such reckless actions.
