On the evening of August 9, 2025, Sarah Ann Anderson, a 38-year-old resident of Norman Park, Georgia, was fatally struck in a high-speed collision in Colquitt County. The incident occurred at the intersection of Georgia Highway 133 and Hopewell Church Road, where a Ford Mustang traveling at over 100 miles per hour struck Anderson's Kia Sportage as it entered the highway. The impact killed both Anderson and the 19-year-old driver of the Mustang, identified as Ryan White of Doerun.
Georgia State Patrol confirmed that a Colquitt County deputy had observed White’s excessive speed prior to the collision but was unable to initiate a stop due to southbound traffic. Anderson, a mother of four originally from Albany, was remembered by friends and family as compassionate and devoted. A community fundraising effort is underway to support her surviving children in the aftermath of the tragedy.
