Vickie Heath Involved in Serious Accident on State Route 109

On April 5, 2025, a severe traffic accident occurred on State Route 109 near Hogans Corner, Washington, resulting in significant consequences for Vickie L. Heath of Aberdeen. According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident unfolded at approximately 1:32 p.m. when a homemade trailer detached from a 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck driven by 57-year-old Lawrence M. Thompson of Elma. The trailer, which was being towed southbound, broke free and collided with Heath’s northbound 2021 Hyundai Tucson, causing her vehicle to roll over into the northbound ditch. Heath was promptly airlifted to Tacoma General Hospital for urgent medical attention.

The Washington State Patrol has identified the cause of the accident as an “unsecured trailer,” highlighting potential safety concerns regarding towing practices. As reported by the Grays Harbor Scanner, the crash took place near mile marker 14, disrupting traffic and raising alarm within the local community. Currently, no charges have been filed against Thompson, and the investigation remains ongoing as authorities seek to uncover the precise factors that led to this dangerous incident.
