Cynthia Morgan Injured in Pateros Head-On Collision on SR 153, Washington on November 11, 2025

On November 11, 2025, Cynthia Morgan, a 70-year-old resident of Gig Harbor, Washington, sustained injuries in a head-on collision on State Route 153 near milepost 2 in Pateros. The incident occurred at approximately 3:49 p.m. when a northbound 2015 Acura RDX, driven by 21-year-old Guilibaldo Vejarbarber of Omak, crossed into the southbound lane for reasons that remain undetermined. William Morgan, the driver of the southbound 2023 Kia Sportage, attempted evasive maneuvers, but the vehicles collided, coming to rest blocking the highway.

Cynthia Morgan, a passenger in the Kia, was airlifted to Confluence Health for medical treatment, while Vejarbarber was transported to Three Rivers Hospital. William Morgan was not injured. No evidence of drugs or alcohol involvement was reported, and all occupants were wearing seatbelts. Both vehicles were rendered inoperable. The Washington State Patrol continues to investigate the collision for failure to maintain lane.
