On November 13, 2025, D’Angelo “Akon” Shaw was shot and killed outside Little Lucky’s Bar in Chatham County, Georgia during the final hours of Veterans Day celebrations. According to investigators, the shooting occurred just before 2 a.m. while Shaw was working at the establishment. Authorities stated that a suspect approached Shaw outside the bar before opening fire. He was pronounced dead following the incident.

Police later arrested 45-year-old Jeremy Scarth in connection with the shooting and charged him with murder. A motive has not been disclosed. Friends described Shaw as an Army veteran who rebuilt his life after experiencing homelessness, later becoming a gym general manager. The investigation remains ongoing as the community continues to grapple with the loss.
