Erik Kitchens Fatal Hit-and-Run in Colquitt County, Georgia on October 19, 2025

A fatal hit-and-run crash occurred on Georgia State Route 133 in Colquitt County on the night of October 19, 2025, resulting in the death of 52-year-old rear passenger Erik Kitchens. According to the Georgia State Patrol, a Mercury traveling northbound was attempting to turn into a private driveway near Mike Horne Road when it was struck from behind by an unidentified vehicle. The collision caused the Mercury to rotate, leave the roadway, and come to rest facing south in a ditch. Kitchens was transported to Colquitt Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

Investigators believe the striking vehicle was likely a Dodge Ram truck manufactured between 2019 and 2024, and it is expected to show damage to the front bumper, grille, and passenger-side headlight area. Authorities have since located the vehicle but have not released further details as the investigation continues. The Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team remains actively involved, urging anyone with relevant information to contact the Troop G Communication Center.
