Esteban Ortiz Sustains Injuries in Kandiyohi Township Hit-and-Run, December 6, 2025

On December 6, 2025, a hit-and-run collision occurred on Highway 12 near 41st Street Northeast in Kandiyohi Township, Kandiyohi County. A 2007 Acura TSX, traveling eastbound, was struck by a Chevy pickup truck that subsequently fled the scene. The roadway was reported as snow- and ice-covered at the time of the incident. Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene to investigate the circumstances.

The passenger, 43-year-old Esteban Ortiz of Windom, Minnesota, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Willmar Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Acura, 41-year-old Asanett Delcid Hernandez, was uninjured. Authorities continue to seek information regarding the operator of the fleeing vehicle.
