Fatal Crash in Scurry County, Texas Claims Lives of Orlando Tello and Sylvia Lemon – September 23, 2025

On the evening of September 23, 2025, a severe three-vehicle collision west of Snyder, Texas, resulted in two fatalities and multiple serious injuries. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred just after 9 p.m. near U.S. Highway 180 and County Road 264 in Scurry County. A semi-truck traveling eastbound reportedly crossed the centerline, colliding head-on with a westbound pickup truck and another semi-truck.

The driver and passenger of the pickup, identified as 32-year-old Orlando Tello and 59-year-old Sylvia Lemon, both of Lamesa, were pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional passengers in the pickup, 41-year-old Aleshia Lucero and 21-year-old Breana Flores, sustained serious injuries and were transported to UMC Lubbock for treatment, along with two male juveniles who also suffered incapacitating injuries. The eastbound semi-truck driver, 44-year-old Sid Rodriguez, was also seriously injured, while the driver of the first semi-truck escaped unharmed. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
