Fatal Hoosick Collision Involving Susan Alexis Joe and Claire Boyer Under Investigation

On June 5, 2025, at approximately 10:32 a.m., New York State Police responded to a fatal two-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Route 7 and State Route 22 in the town of Hoosick, New York. Preliminary findings indicate that a red 2010 Honda sedan, driven by Elizabeth A. Cain, age 82, of North Adams, MA, was traveling north on Route 22 and attempted to turn west onto Route 7. Her vehicle collided with a blue 2010 Mazda sedan traveling east on Route 7, operated by Susan Alexis Joe, age 25, of Petersburgh, NY.

Upon arrival, troopers observed both vehicles with significant damage. Claire Boyer, age 84, of Williamstown, MA, who was a front-seat passenger in the Honda, was pronounced deceased at the scene after unsuccessful life-saving efforts. Susan Alexis Joe sustained leg and hip injuries and was transported to Albany Medical Center. Elizabeth Cain was also transported with suspected leg injuries.
