Fatal West Turin Crash Claims Lives of Tyler Spellicy and Natasha Spellicy, Injures Kylie Spellicy, Eric and Amanda Croniser

On July 17, 2025, a multi-vehicle collision involving a tractor trailer resulted in two fatalities and multiple injuries in the town of West Turin, Lewis County, New York. At approximately 4:11 p.m., a 2011 Honda Pilot operated by Natasha M. Spellicy, 39, failed to yield at the intersection of State Route 12D and State Route 26 and entered the path of a southbound 2020 Volvo tractor trailer driven by Andrew M. Sommers, 38. The impact caused the Honda to veer off the road, while the tractor trailer continued and collided with a red SUV operated by Eric J. Croniser, 63.

Natasha Spellicy and her 16-year-old rear passenger, Tyler Spellicy, were pronounced deceased at the scene. Kylie R. Spellicy, 18, who was seated in the front, was airlifted to Upstate Medical University Hospital and remains in stable condition. Eric J. Croniser and his passenger Amanda L. Croniser, 46, were transported to Wynn Hospital in Utica with injuries reported as non-life-threatening.
