Gustavo Guzman Gomez Killed in Christmas Day Collision on U.S. 12 Near Walla Walla County, Washington on December 25, 2025

Gustavo Guzman Gomez, 34, of Moses Lake, was killed in a fatal two-vehicle collision on Christmas Day along U.S. Highway 12 in Walla Walla County, Washington. The crash occurred at approximately 5:18 p.m. near milepost 313, about 22 miles west of Walla Walla, when a westbound vehicle struck a guardrail, overcorrected, and crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding with the vehicle driven by Guzman Gomez.

Guzman Gomez was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in his vehicle, Nashiely J. Bustamante, 27, and the couple’s six-month-old son, were also critically injured. Bustamante died at the scene, while the infant was transported to a Tri-Cities hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Washington State Patrol officials stated that charges are pending against the other driver involved, and the investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine contributing factors, including whether impairment played a role.
