On November 13, 2025, a high-speed rear-end collision occurred on Interstate 90 near milepost 234 in Adams County, Washington, resulting in injuries to Jeremy R. Zweifel, 51, of Olympia, and Heather J. Tschaekofske, 49. The incident involved a 2003 Toyota Corolla striking a 2022 Subaru Forester from behind at a significant rate of speed, causing both vehicles to spin. The Subaru was subsequently struck a second time and rolled multiple times, coming to rest approximately 50 feet from the right shoulder.
Both Zweifel and Tschaekofske, along with a 15-year-old passenger, were transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the Toyota fled the scene on foot.
