John Cockrill Jr. Identified as Fatality in McCurtain County Crash on Holly Creek Road

On the morning of August 18, 2025, a fatal single-vehicle accident occurred on Holly Creek Road in McCurtain County, Oklahoma. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 2019 Jeep Cherokee driven by 23-year-old Deandra J. Price was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway. The vehicle struck a concrete bridge rail, went airborne, and collided passenger-side first with a large tree.

Two passengers in the vehicle, Shannon B. Deihl, 26, and John C. Cockrill Jr., 35, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver, Price, survived with injuries.
