Jonah Daniel Oleary Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 210 in Sylvan Township, Minnesota on February 17, 2026; Passenger Killed

A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 210 and West Sylvan Drive SW in Sylvan Township, Minnesota, on the evening of February 17, 2026, resulted in one fatality and left another person injured. According to incident reports, a 2014 Ford Expedition traveling eastbound attempted to make a left turn onto West Sylvan Drive SW and collided with a westbound 2017 Kia Forte in the intersection. The roadway was reported to be wet at the time of the crash.

The Kia Forte was driven by 21-year-old Jonah Daniel Oleary of Browerville, Minnesota. Authorities reported that Oleary, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Brainerd for treatment. A passenger in the vehicle, 19-year-old Taylor Rae Wahnschaffe of Richmond, Minnesota, was not wearing a seatbelt and later died from injuries sustained in the collision. The driver and two juvenile passengers in the Ford Expedition were reported uninjured. Emergency response units from Pillager Fire, North Ambulance, and the Cass County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
