Jonathan Andres Contreras Killed in Head-On Crash on U.S. 380 in Jacksboro, Texas on November 16, 2025

Jonathan Andres Contreras, 29, lost his life in a head-on collision on U.S. 380 outside Jacksboro in Jack County, Texas, on November 16, 2025. The crash occurred at approximately 1 p.m. when a westbound Honda Accord attempted to pass another vehicle in a clearly marked no-passing zone and crossed into oncoming traffic. The vehicle struck a Honda CR-V carrying Contreras, resulting in a violent impact that caused the CR-V to rotate before coming to rest.

Contreras was pronounced dead at the scene. A one-year-old child traveling in the same vehicle also died as a result of the collision. The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. The incident underscores the persistent dangers associated with improper passing maneuvers on rural highways, where limited visibility and higher speeds often leave little margin for error.
