Jose Mendoza Accident Fatality at San Antonio Pepsi Facility – October 16, 2025
Authorities in San Antonio have identified Jose Mendoza, 60, as the victim of a fatal workplace accident that occurred at a Pepsi bottling facility on the Northeast Side. According to a preliminary report from the San Antonio Police Department, Mendoza had been clearing spilled cargo from his trailer when another truck, backing into an adjacent dock space, struck him. The driver reportedly did not see or hear Mendoza before the vehicle pinned him against the loading dock. Emergency crews attempted life-saving measures, but Mendoza was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner determined that Mendoza died of blunt force injuries and ruled the incident an accident. PepsiCo issued a statement expressing condolences and confirmed cooperation with authorities. The San Antonio Police Department continues its investigation to determine whether any additional factors contributed to the event.
