Levi Milam Killed in Head-On DUI Crash on Highway 70 Near Durant, Oklahoma on December 21, 2025

On December 21, 2025, a two-vehicle collision on Highway 70 near Durant, Oklahoma, resulted in the death of Levi Milam, a 25-year-old resident of Bennington. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when an SUV crossed left of center and struck another vehicle head-on near the Cardinal Glass area. Milam, a passenger in the impacted vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV, identified as Terrius Purvey, was arrested and booked into the Bryan County Jail on charges including second-degree murder, aggravated DUI, and DUI causing great bodily injury. Three additional individuals were transported to a Texas hospital for treatment. Milam was a member of the Bennington Rural Volunteer Fire Department, where he had served since joining as a junior firefighter in 2017. He is survived by his wife and child as the investigation into the crash continues.
