Deurme Chopwa Injured in Highway 60 Collision in Delafield Township, Jackson County on January 18, 2026
Deurme Chopwa was injured Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 60 in Delafield Township, Jackson County. The collision occurred at approximately 11:16 a.m. on January 18, 2026, under snow- and ice-covered road conditions that contributed to hazardous travel across the region.
Authorities reported that a 2008 Honda Civic was attempting to cross Highway 60 from 470th Street when it slid through the intersection and collided with a westbound 2013 Ford Flex. Chopwa, 47, of Windom, was a passenger in the Ford Flex. She sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Windom Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Ford, 45-year-old Melingko Dullas, and another passenger, 51-year-old Aski G. Willy, were also treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Honda Civic, 18-year-old Jonah William Nauman of Windom, was likewise hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Emergency response included Windom Fire Department, local law enforcement, and area medical services. Alcohol was not suspected in the crash.
