Marie Womack Killed in Garvin County, Oklahoma Crash on December 9, 2025 Along U.S. Highway 177

On December 9, 2025, a fatal single-vehicle accident occurred on U.S. Highway 177 a few miles south of Stratford in Garvin County, Oklahoma. According to state authorities, the vehicle departed the roadway at a high rate of speed for reasons that remain undetermined, left the right side of the highway, and struck a tree before coming to rest in a ditch.

Marie Womack, a 53-year-old resident of Sulphur, Oklahoma, was identified as a passenger who died as a result of the crash. The driver, whose identity was not released, also died at the scene. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that the incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. and that the vehicle partially caught fire following the impact. The circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation.
