On November 30, 2025, a multi-vehicle collision occurred on westbound Interstate 94 near mile marker 59 in Buse Township, Otter Tail County, Minnesota. The crash involved four vehicles that were stopped due to traffic congestion when a westbound Chevrolet Cruze collided with a stationary Chevrolet Equinox. The force of the impact caused the Equinox to spin and strike additional stopped vehicles, resulting in a chain-reaction incident. Authorities reported that road conditions were dry at the time, and multiple emergency response agencies were dispatched.
Matthew Edward Harnden, age 21, of Everett, Washington, was a passenger in the Chevrolet Equinox during the collision. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Lake Region Hospital for medical treatment. Officials confirmed that seat belts were in use and that alcohol was not involved. Other occupants of the Equinox were also treated for non-life-threatening injuries, while drivers of the remaining vehicles reported no injuries.
