Melissa Guest Killed in Middleburgh, NY Crash on State Route 145

On July 29, 2025, Melissa L. Guest, a 49-year-old resident of Jefferson, New York, was fatally injured in a two-vehicle collision in Middleburgh. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 145 and Schoharie Hill Road. According to the New York State Police, the vehicle in which Guest was a front seat passenger was attempting a left turn when it was struck by a northbound vehicle.

Guest was pronounced deceased at the scene. The drivers of both vehicles and four additional passengers from the second vehicle were transported to Albany Medical Center with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. State Route 145 was closed for several hours for investigation and collision reconstruction, reopening at approximately 5:45 p.m.
