Michael Alfred Souder Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 2 in Pike Bay Township, Minnesota on November 26, 2025

On November 26, 2025, a two-vehicle traffic incident occurred on westbound Highway 2 near milepost 129 in Pike Bay Township, Cass County, Minnesota. According to authorities, a 2015 Chevrolet 2500 pickup lost a pallet from its truck bed and pulled onto the shoulder of the roadway. While attempting to retrieve the pallet by backing up, the pickup was struck by a westbound 2002 Ford Taurus. Road conditions at the time were reported as snow- and ice-covered.

The driver of the Ford Taurus, Michael Alfred Souder, age 60 of Bemidji, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Bemidji Hospital for treatment. Souder was wearing a seat belt, and airbags deployed in his vehicle. The driver of the pickup, Franklin Warren Sam, age 35 of Bemidji, was not injured. No alcohol was involved, and the incident remains documented as complete by responding agencies.
