Mohamed Ahmed El Tewati Injured in Winkler County, Texas Crash on December 24, 2025 Amid Heavy Fog Conditions
WINKLER COUNTY, Texas — A fatal two-vehicle collision occurred in Winkler County on the morning of December 24, 2025, under severely reduced visibility caused by dense fog. The incident took place at approximately 7:20 a.m. along State Highway 302, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Preliminary findings indicate that a 2023 Ford F-550, operated by 48-year-old Mohamed Z. Ahmed El Tewati of Midland, was traveling eastbound and approaching an intersection when a 2026 Ford F-250 entered the roadway. Authorities reported that the second driver, identified as Rafael Diaz Hernandez, was traveling at a speed deemed unsafe for the prevailing weather conditions and failed to stop at a posted stop sign before colliding with El Tewati’s vehicle. Hernandez was pronounced deceased at the scene. Mohamed Ahmed El Tewati sustained minor injuries and was transported to Winkler County Memorial Hospital for treatment. The crash remains under active investigation.
