Nicholas Stacey Involved in Highway 218 Collision in Lansing Township, MN – October 30, 2025

On October 30, 2025, Nicholas Carl Stacey, a 41-year-old resident of Hutchinson, Minnesota, was involved in a vehicular collision on Highway 218 at 27th Street NW in Lansing Township, Mower County. Stacey was operating a 2012 Dodge Ram traveling northbound when it collided with a 2008 Pontiac Vibe attempting to cross the highway. The impact caused airbags to deploy in both vehicles.

No injuries were reported for Nicholas Stacey, who was properly restrained by a seat belt. A passenger in the Dodge Ram, Thomas Samuel Stacey, 66, of Northwood, Iowa, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at MCHS Austin. The driver of the Pontiac Vibe, 71-year-old Ronald Gary Jacobson of Austin, Minnesota, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to MCHS Austin for treatment. Emergency responders included Mower County Sheriff’s Office, Austin Fire Department, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service.
