Noriko Rapley Killed in Norwood, Massachusetts Plow Truck Incident on January 26, 2026; Husband Joseph Rapley Seriously Injured
On January 26, 2026, a fatal incident during a winter storm claimed the life of 51-year-old Noriko Rapley in Norwood, Massachusetts. Authorities reported that Rapley and her husband, 47-year-old Joseph Rapley, were walking through the MBTA’s Norwood Central parking lot at approximately 2 p.m. when a Ford F-350 truck equipped with a plow reversed and struck them. The vehicle was operated by a 33-year-old contractor engaged in snow removal services for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority.
Noriko Rapley was pronounced dead at the scene. Joseph Rapley sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital; officials indicated that his injuries are not considered life-threatening. The driver remained at the site and is cooperating with investigators. Both Transit Police and the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
