Stephen Michael Jones Dies in Early Morning Pedestrian Crash in Amarillo, Texas – September 7, 2025
On the morning of September 7, 2025, a fatal pedestrian collision occurred near the intersection of W Farmers Avenue and Alexandria Street in Amarillo, Texas. According to the Amarillo Police Department, officers responded to reports of a vehicle striking a pedestrian shortly after 6:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered 30-year-old Stephen Michael Jones unresponsive in the roadway.
Preliminary findings indicate that Jones was walking south across Farmers Avenue outside of a designated crosswalk when he was struck by a 2020 Ford SUV. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. An autopsy has been ordered, and the incident remains under investigation by local authorities.
