Pao Khang Family Severely Injured in Fiery DUI Crash on Highway 169 in Owasso, Oklahoma – December 20, 2025
On December 20, 2025, a Tulsa family’s return home ended in catastrophe on Highway 169 in Owasso, Oklahoma, when their vehicle was struck from behind by a suspected drunk driver. The impact caused the truck driven by Pao Khang to flip multiple times before bursting into flames. Inside were Khang’s wife, Yer, and their three young children. All sustained injuries, with Yer suffering the most severe, including a brain bleed, spinal trauma, and fractured ribs.
In the moments following the collision, Khang pulled his children away from the burning wreckage and located his wife lying unresponsive near the vehicle. He performed CPR until first responders arrived, an act that authorities acknowledge likely saved her life. While the children have since been released from the hospital, Yer remains hospitalized with a prolonged recovery ahead. The driver accused of causing the crash, Cheyanne Pershall, was later arrested for DUI. As the investigation continues, the family faces mounting medical expenses and the lasting consequences of a single, irreversible moment on the roadway.
