On December 20, 2025, a Tulsa family’s return home ended in catastrophe on Highway 169 in Owasso, Oklahoma, when their vehicle was struck from behind by a suspected drunk driver. The impact caused the truck driven by Pao Khang to flip multiple times before bursting into flames. Inside were Khang’s wife, Yer, and their three young children. All sustained injuries, with Yer suffering the most severe, including a brain bleed, spinal trauma, and fractured ribs.

In the moments following the collision, Khang pulled his children away from the burning wreckage and located his wife lying unresponsive near the vehicle. He performed CPR until first responders arrived, an act that authorities acknowledge likely saved her life.
