Maryah Johnson Killed in DUI Crash on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Dunwoody, Georgia – September 7, 2025

On the evening of September 7, 2025, an 8-year-old girl, Maryah Johnson, was fatally injured in a collision on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Dunwoody, Georgia. The crash occurred as her family was leaving an apartment complex when their vehicle, a Honda Civic carrying six occupants—including four children—was struck by a pickup truck. Maryah was transported to Children’s Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries the following morning.

The driver of the pickup truck, identified by Dunwoody police as Jose Alejandro Cuahuizo-Varela, has been charged with multiple offenses including homicide by vehicle, DUI, and hit and run.
