Sheyla Mascorro Killed in Austin DUI Crash on Labor Day – September 2, 2025

On September 2, 2025, in southeast Austin, Texas, 21-year-old Sheyla Alejandra Mascorro was killed in a two-vehicle crash on East Ben White Boulevard. According to the Austin Police Department, Mascorro was the passenger in a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Sonia Edith Ramos, who was later arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.

The crash occurred around 9:46 p.m. and marked the city’s 71st fatal collision of the year, contributing to a total of 75 traffic-related deaths in 2025.
