Suzanna Garcia Dies in Chicago, Illinois Hit-and-Run Crash on East 95th Street on January 1, 2026

A fatal hit-and-run crash in Chicago claimed the life of a 38-year-old woman during the early morning hours of January 1, 2026. According to the Chicago Police Department, the incident occurred around 5 a.m. in the 3400 block of East 95th Street near the Calumet River, where a GMC SUV struck a utility pole under unclear circumstances.

Suzanna Garcia, identified as a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Authorities reported that the driver fled the scene and has not been identified.
