Trooper Jerry Adamick Jr. Killed in Line of Duty in Coldspring, TX – September 15, 2025
On September 15, 2025, Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Jerry Wayne Adamick Jr., age 44, was killed in the line of duty near Coldspring, Texas. According to official reports, Trooper Adamick was responding to an emergency call to assist fellow law enforcement officers when his vehicle left the roadway on FM 945 South, struck a tree, and caught fire. He did not survive the crash.
Trooper Adamick was a United States Army veteran and had been commissioned as a Texas DPS trooper on August 23, 2024. He is survived by his wife and five adult children. His death marks the 242nd line-of-duty fatality in the history of the Texas Department of Public Safety, dating back to 1835.
