Trooper Kristen R. Sullivan Injured in Bethlehem NY Thruway Crash on August 8, 2025
On August 8, 2025, at approximately 8:44 a.m., Trooper Kristen R. Sullivan of the New York State Police was involved in a motor vehicle collision on Interstate 87 northbound in the Town of Bethlehem, NY. During the course of a routine traffic stop, Trooper Sullivan's patrol vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by a 2017 Subaru Forester that had lost control after swerving to avoid a lane-changing tractor trailer.
Trooper Sullivan sustained minor injuries and was transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment of back and neck pain. She is expected to be released shortly. The incident occurred amid an ongoing Speed Awareness Week enforcement initiative by the State Police.
