Wanda Mejia Killed in Chicago, Illinois Pedestrian Crash on North Dearborn Street on December 19, 2025

A fatal pedestrian collision in Chicago’s River North neighborhood claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman on the morning of December 19, 2025. According to authorities, the incident occurred at approximately 11:40 a.m. in the 700 block of North Dearborn Street when a vehicle struck a pedestrian near the sidewalk.

Wanda Mejia was hit by a Porsche driven by a 62-year-old woman and was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Police reported that the driver was issued a citation at the scene. The Chicago Police Department’s Major Accidents Unit is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
