Bruce Lee Involved in Serious Car Accident in Illinois

On July 24, 2025, a severe vehicular collision occurred at the intersection of Levy and Bell Club Roads near Lake Centralia in Marion County, Illinois. Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies report that the incident involved two drivers: 78-year-old Nancy Wood of Levy Road, Centralia, and 45-year-old Bruce Lee of Bob White Lane, Salem. Preliminary findings indicate that Wood, traveling southbound on Bell Club Road, attempted a left turn onto Levy Road, crossing the path of Lee’s northbound vehicle. The resulting impact forced Wood’s car backwards into a ditch and propelled Lee’s vehicle into an adjacent cornfield.Both individuals sustained injuries requiring immediate medical attention. They were transported by Lifestar Ambulance to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital before being airlifted to separate St. Louis hospitals for advanced care. Authorities noted that Wood reported chest pain, while Lee exhibited signs of a head injury. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
