Chrischalla Crawford Injured in Fatal Watonga Crash

On June 3, 2025, at approximately 7:04 a.m., a fatal collision occurred on U.S. Highway 270, west of Watonga, Oklahoma, in Blaine County, approximately nine miles west of the city near County Road North 2470. The incident involved a 2016 Nissan Altima, driven by Ronald Clayton Irvin, 51, of Woodward, and a 2021 Kenworth semi, driven by Johnathan Issac Peden, 49, of Gillette, Wyoming. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Irvin’s vehicle, traveling eastbound, crossed the centerline and collided head-on with the westbound semi. Irvin was pronounced deceased at the scene by Eagle City Fire Department personnel. His passenger, Chrischalla Ann Crawford, 43, of Fargo, sustained internal injuries to her trunk and was transported by AirEvac to OU Medical Center, where she was admitted in stable condition.

Both individuals in the Altima were restrained by seatbelts, and no ejections occurred. The semi driver, Peden, reported no injuries. The Eagle City Fire Department utilized the Hurst tool to extricate Irvin and Crawford from the wreckage. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has identified the cause of the crash as crossing the centerline, with Irvin’s condition at the time of the incident remaining under investigation. Weather conditions were clear, and the roadway was dry at the time of the collision.
