Coryesha Davis Victim in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash in East St. Louis

On July 12, 2025, a fatal hit-and-run crash occurred in East St. Louis, Illinois, resulting in the death of Coryesha Davis. According to the Illinois State Police, the incident took place at the 2200 block of State Street. Davis was struck by a vehicle driven by Parshay Lewis, who subsequently fled the scene. Davis was transported to a nearby hospital but succumbed to her injuries shortly thereafter.Lewis, a 34-year-old resident of East St. Louis, turned herself in to authorities on July 14, 2025. She was charged on July 16, 2025, with failure to report an accident involving death, failure to report an accident involving death, and failure to give information or render aid to the injured. The investigation, initially handled by the East St. Louis Police Department, was later supported by the Illinois State Police. Lewis is currently being held at the St. Clair County Jail.
