Antonio Benitez Fatally Injured in North New Hyde Park E-Bike Collision

On July 12, 2025, at approximately 8:12 p.m., a fatal vehicular accident occurred at the intersection of Lakeville Road and Bryant Avenue in North New Hyde Park, New York. Antonio Benitez, a 15-year-old male operating an e-bike eastbound on Bryant Avenue, was struck by a southbound 2015 Lexus driven by Ruyan Ali, 28, of New Hyde Park. Benitez sustained severe injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Ali was arrested near the scene and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with a fatality, aggravated unlicensed operation in the second and third degrees, and multiple vehicle and traffic law violations.The Homicide Squad of the Nassau County Police Department is continuing its investigation into the incident.
