Dino Bastian Dies in Gibbon Truck Accident

On July 22, 2025, Dino John Bastian, a 54-year-old resident of Gibbon, Minnesota, died after being struck by a truck on County Road 2, just south of the city. The Sibley County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the incident at 2:36 a.m. and determined that Bastian was walking south on the road when he was hit by a 2016 Chevy Colorado driven by Timothy Jon Ahlbrecht. Upon arrival, sheriff’s office personnel found Bastian deceased at the scene. The vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage, and assistance was provided by Gibbon Rescue, Winthrop Ambulance, Five Star Towing, and the Minnesota State Patrol. The incident remains under investigation.
