Elise Baum Injured in Rear-End Collision on Highway 27 in Pike Creek Township, MN – September 17, 2025
On September 17, 2025, a rear-end collision occurred on eastbound Highway 27 at 120th Avenue in Pike Creek Township, Morrison County, Minnesota. According to the incident report, a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze operated by 34-year-old Elise Anna Baum of Swanville was slowing to make a left turn onto 120th Avenue when it was struck from behind by a 2013 Jeep Wrangler driven by 54-year-old Aaron Eugene McCapes of Brainerd. Road conditions at the time were wet.
Elise Baum sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to CHI St. Gabriel's Hospital for treatment. A 5-year-old passenger, Ruth Mae Baum, was also injured and transported to the same facility. A 3-year-old passenger, Richard Eugene Baum, was not injured. The driver of the Jeep was uninjured. Alcohol was not a factor in the collision. The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office, Little Falls Police Department, and Mayo Ambulance responded to the scene.
