Monika Hamlin Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision in Pequot Lakes, MN – September 17, 2025

On September 17, 2025, a two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 371 and County Road 107 in Pequot Lakes, Crow Wing County, Minnesota. A 2009 Honda Fit, operated by 91-year-old John Kaliher Thoele of Nisswa, was traveling northbound and attempted to turn left onto Patriot Avenue. During the maneuver, the vehicle crossed in front of a southbound 2010 GMC Terrain, resulting in a collision.

Among the passengers in the GMC was 68-year-old Monika Lynne Hamlin of Pine River, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. Another passenger, 89-year-old Beverly Louise Mink of Roseburg, Oregon, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to St. Mary’s in Duluth. The 16-year-old driver of the GMC reported no injuries. The road conditions were dry at the time, and alcohol was not a factor.
