Emma Brekke Injured in Austin, Minnesota Car Accident

On April 27, 2025, at approximately 8:09 PM, a vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of 14th St. NW and 4th Avenue in Austin, Minnesota. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2011 Honda Civic, driven by 38-year-old Alfonso Lopez Ramos of Austin, collided with a 2020 Dodge Journey, driven by 44-year-old Christopher Mark Brekke, also of Austin. Emma Lauren Brekke, a 21-year-old passenger in the Dodge Journey, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to MCHS Austin for medical treatment.

Authorities confirmed that Ramos was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident, while Brekke was not. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and no airbags were deployed in either vehicle. The incident, which took place under dry road conditions, is currently under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol, with assistance from the Mayo Clinic Ambulance service.
